Severe Itching

Okay so most of you know im 16w 17w tomorrow. Here in the past week I have had severe itching on my chest and breasts. The itching is they type that doesnt go away and is severely aggrivating. I dont have a rash, and havent changed any lotions, laundry soap, body wash or anything. I havent eaten anything new or drank anything new.

I know there is a kind of side effect of pregnancy that causes extreme itching but im not sure what it is called.
Has anyone been going through the same thing, or been through the same thing?

I had this when I was pregnant with my oldest son, and they prescribed me an antihistamine, but I cant take them because they make me to drowsy and I need to be awake to care for my other 2 children.

Calamine lotion, any anti itching creme doesnt work at all.

Any info or suggestions are appreciated.

yeah I had the same thing, I just used organic johoba..(sp) oil and it helped alot. Your skin is just dry and itchy from being stretched. I went from an A to nearly a D cup. I was amazed I had never seen my boobs with a 'fold' underneath lol.

Well my chest shouldnt be stretching lol, my boobs yes but honestly they havent gotten any larger or firmer, I dont even have milk in yet. Im a bit concearned with the ICP possibility as I have some liver/kidney issues from contracting lymes disease a few years ago.

No rash just itching, I think I will give him a call tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Thanks :)

I have pretty bad itching too, but mine comes and goes. Some of that is caused from teh stretching of your skin. Keep lotion on and hopefully it will help some. IF it doesnt stop, call your doc and ask them about it.

i was watching a baby story this morning and the lady had sever itching, which was a side effect of something to do with her liver, the thing was called icp- do you have a rash or is it just itchy?? if it gets too bad, id call your dr and they can do a test to see if you have it or not.
