What are the chances of another ...

Hello Everyone,
I am 27 years old, and I joined this site after I had my first miscarriage at the end of June.  I was 11 weeks along, but the baby had died at 8 weeks.  This was not a planned pregnancy being I had just gotten off the pill the month I conceived after being on it for 10 years.  However, we were devestated.  This month my husband and I decided we will give it a try again.  I have a few days to go before I am due for my cycle.  I know we had sex on the days I was most fertile so there is a good chance I am pregnant (I am not one to take my temps or use ovulation kits... never had a problem getting pregnant and I don't want that kind of pressure).  If I am not that is OK too.  But, I can't help but feel anxiety about my last experiance.  I think if I am actually pregnant I am going to be a nervous wreck.  My question is what are the odds of miscarriage again? How many people have had multiple miscarriages? Docs say I am 100% healthy and it was chromosome abnormality.  I can't help but be negative and think it is going to happen again and I will have a hard time with having children.  Any pointers to ease my nerves?  I know stressing can't be good!

Thank you both for your words of encouragment.  I love this site and the fact that you can find others going through the same thing as you.  I am currently two days late, but have had a negative test today (this happend to me last time I did not get a postive until about a week late).  So, I am hoping for the best but still expecting the AF.  I guess it is normal to feel nervous and worried regardless of your experiance?  Just part of being or trying to be a parent!
Actually, I am more nervous about my sisters pregnancy.  She had one miscarriage, now has a five year old, a two year old, now five weeks pregnant and they cannot find the heartbeat and getting her HCG levels checked tomorrow :(  I hope she is alright!
I am sorry for your loss KeyD and luvenmybabies I wish you the best of luck.

I know how you feel, I had a devastating ectopic and am scared that I will have another and then not be able to have another baby, but after the ectopic I had an uneventful pregnancy. I don't think I was ever not scared during my pregnancy that something would go wrong again until after I was holding DD. Good Luck

No it isn't good to stress about it. Some people have on misscarriage and then go on to have another healthy pregnancy. Some women have multiple misscarriages and I am not sure why. I guess all I can say is relax and enjoy your pregnancy...I know it is hard not to worry but try not to because it isnt good for the baby. I think every mother worries to some extent though. I find myself worrying about this pregnancy even though I have had two healthy pregnancies and no misscarraiges beofre. Good luck. Keep me informed.
