thank you all! i think ill go with dr. brown!!
thanks again
I'm originally from South Africa - Nuk is quite huge there so i used that with my son after breast feeding 4 months. With my daughter here in Australia after breastfeeding 9 months i had hell getting her onto a bottle - tried every range eventually the only thing that worked well from breast to bottle was the pigeon bottle with there newborn teat with the lines in - cannot remember the name thought peristaltic nipple not sure.
Hope baby likes the bottle you want to try.
I got Born Free and Avent. I liked the born free for the glass bottles but Avent made it so that Aspen wasn't gassy and I REALLY liked them. It really all depends on the baby though and what will work for them.
Dr. Brown's is the only way to go. Started with Avent and they did nothing to help with my son's gas.
Dr Browns rock just a little pricy!
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Browns bottles. I used them for my 1st son & they were so well, I also used them for my 2nd. They are a pain to wash b/c including the bottle itself, its like 4 or 5 pieces that fit together that u have to wash, but it was well worth it. My dr. recommended them to me. Where I live, they have gotten to be a lil cheaper. They were like almost $20 (for a 3 pk) when I used them w/ Logan 4 yrs ago and my SIL now uses them w/ my niece who is 3 mths and she paid around 13 for a pk.
I bought Dr. Browns. It was suggested by alot of gals that i know. My SIL started using Avent when my God Son was born, and she switched over to Dr. Browns. She said Avent leaked. Im sure it probably depends on the child, but Dr. Browns is what i bought. I
we use playtex ventaire advances they are awesome!!!1 And I also use dr .browns as well... about the soy .. most doctors want you to at least try to start out babies on milk based formula.. it is better for them.. but we had to switch my daughter to soy because she has a milk allergy and now she does wonderful...
I love the Avent bottles, not only do they prevent gas and colic, the nipples simulate mothers nipple for more realistic feeding for baby, they also have a nipple that allows baby to control the flow. It's a lot easier to clean because the vents are in the nipples, and you dont have 50 million peices to steralize or clean...or lose lol.
You can also get Avent with BPA free plastic now, Im not worried about the BPA, but incase anyone was Avent now has them BPA free.
It will also help if your formula feeding, to have them on a soy based formula. A lot of newborns can't tolerate milk protiens, and it reduces a lot of gas/colic issues. Im going to use Enfamil Prosobee with Lipil....It saved me more than once, and my kids never had any colic/gas issues after being put on soy based formula.
i used the platex bottles with both my children and they never had a issue holding up a cup and it made them alot more comfortable since both my kids had colic as babies. it all depends on the money issue the regular plastic bottlles and such are going to be cheaper in the long run cause wash and reuse the bottle wiht the drop in liner bottles are having to keep up a supply of the liners for the bottles. i plann on using the drop in bottles again seeing that they worked so well for me before evern though they can get to be a little pricey but nothing is too expensive when it comes to ur kids
you can try play tex with the drop in liner. That way you could burp the air out before you feed the baby. But in my past exp the baby will have a hard til with a cup because they don't have to hold the bottle up.
