chances to get pregnant

I was married for the first time 8 years, have been divorced for 10 years. I went through a hard marriage sorrounded with domestic violence, had 3 kids which are 16, 13 and 11. I just found someone that reallly values me. We've been together for 4 years already and we love the idea of having a baby together. I had an endometrial ablation one year ago, but i still have my period. Can you tell me if I have any chances of getting/been pregnant? or if there is something I can do to get pregnant?

Ok it all depends on how much lining was removed.... or ur tubal ligation was removed..

If a woman resumes her periods at some point after an endometrial ablation then it is possible she can very well get pregnant. If she has gone through with a tubal ligation to prevent this from happening, then she may wish to seek a tubal ligation reversal in order to allow her the opportunity to get pregnant.


If alot of lining was removed  then u have to talk to docs about the chances of u getting pregnant and going full term and what complication,....

Pregnancy after endometrial ablation is uncommon, with an estimated rate of 0.7%. These pregnancies have been associated with complications such as disorders of abnormal placental adherence, hemorrhage, preterm delivery, and hysterectomy. Although rare, planned pregnancies following endometrial ablation have been reported, but most are unintended and quite complicated. A 49% termination rate has been reported for pregnancies conceived after endometrial ablation.

If you're still having periods, it means there's still a lining there, though it's hard to say how much and if it's even enough. After an ablation, you're not meant to have children again. Most doctors will tell you this, though some omit it. It's highly recommended that you do NOT conceive because of the risks involved. There are cases where women do conceive after an ablation, but go through a very long complicated pregnancy and the odds of having a full term pregnancy are not high. Talk to your partner and go over every single risk involved (which can include death to you and the child) and make sure it's something you want to risk and/or try. If you can find a high risk doctor willing to take you on (many will not because there's a high case of complications) you may have a chance. Your best option if you truly want children would be to look into a surrogate mother or adoption.

this is a surgical procedure to treat heavy periods where most of the lining of the womb is destroyed, I personally dont know anyone who has had this done but have read that it can be difficult to conceive due the lining of the womb not thickening up enough to accept the embryo or if it does attach, miscarriage is common due to the lining being too weak! Did you have this done because of heavy periods? where you told how it may affect future pregnancies ?? I think it is possible to get pregnant so I wish you luck in achieving this :) x

I dont know what an Endometnal Abration is...
But can you have IVF or somethingg??
