dental work and pregnancy

My husband and I used a fertility monitor to determine when to conceive.  We tried to conceive on June 4th however I have a detist appointment to have scaling done for my periodontal disease on June 9th.  I don't know whether I am pregnant or not and I don't want to harm anything.  Do I cancel My dentist appointment until I know for sure?

I went to my dentist appointment after I received a negative HPT... had x-rays done - the full check up.  I found out 2 days later that I was pregnant...  There is nothing wrong with the baby.  I went for my 6 month dental check up about 3 weeks ago (I was 29 weeks pregnant) and there were no problems.  I was a little uncomfortable lying on my back for a 1/2 hour but nothing major.

If you know that you are pregnant and they are wanting to do x-rays then ask them not to.  However it doesn't sound like you are needing x-rays, so I don't see a reason not to go to the dentist.  If you are worried about it, I would phone and ask for the dentist and tell him your situation and he/she will be able to let you know.

My dentist told me that It worse not going to the dentist and having an invection of some sort that eventually will harm your baby and end up having meds for it so I suggest that u go to their doctors appoinment and take care of it ASAP. God bless you with you bunddle of joy. Please update us if u got your BFP!!!!
