Exact same thing happened to me. I was having cramps like my period was about to start, it didn't come when it was suppose to so I took a test 4days after it was suppose to come and it came out negative. I waited another week for it to come, never did so I took another test and came out positive. I'm 36weeks now with my first son:) good luck to you both hope it comes out positive

You could be, you could not be. Unfortunately, many of the symptoms of early pregnancy are also symptoms that you're getting your period. I'd wait a couple of more days and test again (in the morming). Your hcg levels may not be detectable yet.
