pregnant

Am i pregnant? I have recent been having full-length(7days) heavy cycles every week and a half, and vaginal discharge accompanied by abdominal pains. I had an appendectomy 2 months ago. I had been taking the pill for 4 days when i last had sex 1 month ago. I also took 4 pregnancy tests and one came back positive. my doctor is on vacation so i am not sure if i am or not. the nurse told me to get back on my pill, since i stopped when i started having irregular periods. is it possible that missing my period after my surgery in combination with taking the pill on and off, could mess up my cycle?

could it be a result of taking the pill on and off. because i stopped during surgery, had my period two weeks late, presumably due to anesthesia, started taking it at the end of the period, and then stopped two weeks later when i started again. i havent taken it until recently when the rest of my at home preg tests came back negative

You cannot get pregnant if you are having periods like that. Your body needs to have at least 10 days between ovulation and your next period to conceive.

Also a cycle has to have at least 21 days of non-bleeding between a new bleed in order to be considered a new period. Otherwise it is just on-and-off bleeding.

This could be caused by your appendectomy. Call your doctor's office ASAP and get some answers. Even if they are on vaca someone should be available to either refer you or to get you in to see a different doctor.
