second question* delivery& labor

Sry I know this is my second post!  I haven't been on here in a while and had a cpl questions .
My question is for women who went natural, what was your experience and did you take anything for pain like tylenol ect .. I'm considering going natural because I don't want to feel high and be out of it when my daughter comes. This is my first pregnant so I need some suggestions.  Also my father had a bad drug   problem all my life so I hate taking anything narcotic. Lol maybe I'm a little extreme?

If you want to go natural then go for it!! I had only gas and air with my second child and it was the best experience ever! Just let your body take over, it knows what to do! I would however go for an epidural if I were induced again though, that was really painful and not at all like a spontaneous labour which I had the second time.
Dont let anyone put you off, and as another poster said dont feel bad if you give in and take something, read up on your options for medication and make a list from your preference down to what you would rather not have and if need be during labour you can start to work your way through it.

I had 2/3 of mine with epidural. The 2nd time I got it too soon and it wore off. But I recommend it. Natural *****. And an epidural doesn't make you high. Just makes you less crabby lol. And the baby comes out fine and you do too. Your completely fine during pushing. Its just nice not focusing on the pain and just imagine "a couple hrs from now baby will be here"

Well I did not go natural however if your concern is being loopy or taking a narcotic an epidural is not a narcotic and does not make you loopy just numb from like belly down.

Well, I ended up in an emergency c-section, but I was completely natural til then, and would have done it completely natural. I got to 8cm's, and they lost his H/B, but doing it natural is completely doable, if you keep walking, bouncing on the ball, etc, it will make the contractions come harder/hurt more, but they'll be gone quicker, and they progress things so much! Make sure you breath, calmly, through everything, and you can do it! A lot of women don't want any medicine for the reason of feeling out of it after delivery, some do, some don't, but my SIL had an epidural during her delivery and she couldn't hold her daughter for almost an hour after because she was so out of it! If something happens and you definitely need pain medicine, it's not the end of the world, and it's not a defeat, because remember, you have to look back on this and you'll want it to be the most enjoyable experience, so do whatever you feel comfortable with!!
