I'm due June 28th with my second. First was a med-free midwife-assisted birthing center delivery nearly four years ago and hoping this one will be a midwife-assisted home birth instead.
Major abdominal surgery, and recovering from it while attempting to care for a newborn, is a heck of a lot more painful and destructive than a vaginal birth (which your body was built to do). Unless a woman has a valid medical reason for a cesarean (complete placenta previa, fully engaged frank breech presentation, history of pelvic fracture involving the birth canal, previous cesarean with vertical incision [though vbacs are almost always a safer choice after a bikini-cut cesarean birth], and other serious complications) it probably shouldn't be the first choice due to the risks involved. I'm not passing judgment without knowing personal situations BTW just sharing information for the ftms who haven't had reason to do this sort of research before.

I'm due June 22 2015. I'm also a ftm and wanted to have a c section and thought I may just get it, however now I don't know. The thought of the pain is why I want a c section.
