Has anyone been put on pelvic rest?

The dr office just called and said my placenta was to thin or thick and it's attached to close to the cervix. They said no pushing, pulling, or lifting over 20lbs. I said I have a 2yr old that's 24lbs. So I can't pick her up? She said no or you'll bleed. Oh and no sex. Well that already happened first thing before he left for work.

Does this fix it's self? Or goes away? Does this mean I'll have an early delivery?

I go next Tuesday for my normal 20wk checkup.

I'm at 11 weeks (33 y) I was told yesterday that my placenta is covered the entire cervix. Well I researched it. Many articles say to wait it out and stay positive. Here's a website that's helpful

So no sex whatsoever. No lifting. No hard exercise. I know it's hard with a 2 years old - sorry. I have an 8 years old boy so I don't have this problem.
Cause - really unknown but ... in my case - I had a miscarriage last March. So it could have caused it. Hopefully how our uterus and baby grow the placenta will move up. I read that steady weight gain could help too. I have been having morning sickness so I lost weight in the 1st trisemester. I'm trying to eat small portions every 3 hours .... it's hard.
I take magnesium capsules (400mg x 2) every night to avoid constipation - it will help heal hemorrhoids too. While expecting my 1st child I needed to have a hemerroid surgery 7 months pregnant! !! It turned outside ... became black. I couldn't even walk because of the pain. After the surgery my contractions started but they stopped them with meds. I had a healthy big boy on time in January 2006. So just saying ... take magnesium to relieve constipation. Hope it helps.

Did the doctor ever say what causes this or the reason behind this is? And how did you manage or deal with handling your other children? I'm having a huge problem asking for help. Even the idea of asking is stressing me out.

Now I bled with my first one due to making fresh ginger root tea too strong. I researched after this and there are certain essential oils to be aware of and ginger will cause heavy bleeding. Other then that I've never had the problem. Now the pain after intercourse has gotten worse with this one. With my 2yr old I just needed to sit or lay down for an hr or two then I was ready to go. This time here it is 24hrs later (before being told I shouldn't) it's not as bad, but to sit on the toilet everything still feels like a little pain/pressure and it all wants to come out, and the hemrroids aren't helping!

I have this still since 8 weeks (I am 21+6) now. They still tell me that hopefully the placenta position will change. It has been a long road with this pelvic rest =(

Thank you. Not looking forward to a c-section so I'm hoping it just works it's self out. I did some reading, yeah no sex, I have to see what exersices I'm aloud to do. I know near the end of my first pregnancy all I wanted to do was walk, and what I read power walking is a no no.

The placenta should move up as your uterus stretches. There is a chance that it wont and will require and early delivery via c-section. Just try to take it easy and keep your feet up and all should be ok.
