Horrible heartburn & Acid Indegestion

I am 36 wks and 5 days along. I have had issues with this for about a year before I got pregnant. I am taking over the counter medication that my doctor approved, however it has gotten insanely worse further into the pregnancy that it doesnt work!!! Does anyone have any safe remedies that work??? I dont sleep and I dont even want to eat or drink water but I do so because I know I need to for the baby. Any ideas would help!

I've had acid problems for years and was on prilosec before becoming pregnant. I now take zantac 150 in the morning which helps but what really helps is taking 2-3 teaspoons is Maalox before and after I eat. I started taking Maalox and stopped taking tums as tums just weren't doing it. The Maalox helps coat the esophagus which makes it easier to eat and keep things down. I was in the same boat as you couldn't eat or sleep and constantly throwing up cause their is so much acid. Hope this helps.
