Hot baths/hot showers

I just heard that's it bad to take hot baths/hot showers while pregnant.. I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have taken hot showers everyday since I found out I like to sit in the shower and relax ill sit in there til the water gets cold.. Worried I hurt my baby.. Any other moms out there take hot baths/hot showers?

A lot of people say that. I take hot showers, always have. I have to have hot water because I have less-than-great circulation and can't stay warm.
The advice I've been given is: If you're sweating or uncomfortable, your shower/bed/whatever is too hot for baby. Take off heaviest blanket, turn down water a little, etc. If you're comfy, baby is comfy.

Yea it's really more Jacuzzi and saunas that are issues. All about regulating ur temp.

I love hot baths. I used to take them when I could get myself out of the tub. I always took a huge bottle of cold water to drink and help regulate my temperature while I read.

All three of my obgyns have told me hot showers will not hurt be Use your body regulates temperature. Ad long as your not getting dizzy and short of breath you should be fine. I take extremely hot showers and I'm 25 wks.  During my first pregnancy I even enjoyed the hot tub for about 10 min at a time. Just know your limits and what makes you feel comfortable.

I was told as long as I don't get dizzy or start to feel bad I am fine.  I love hot showers and have taken them through all my pregnancies (i on 32 weeks 1 day of my 3rd pregnancy).  I think you are fine.  Also just make sure it isn't turning your skin red.  I used to like that type of hot shower but have toned it down to be safe...and cuz my husband got sick of getting cold showers lol.

I take hot (not extreamly hot) showers with no problem usually about 8 to 10 mins, I don't let the water run on my belly too long just enough to get wet and the soap off.... Hot baths however I avoid. I read somewhere that it's not good for the baby because of the rise in temperature which may cause baby to overheat.

Im pretty sure you and the baby will be fine I take hot showers and my body lets me jnow if the water is to hot for the baby and me I can tell because I start feeling really bad. If your 18weeks you probably heard heart beat correct? If your really worried you can ask your dr but mine told me that hot showers were okay as long as I paid attention to my body
