I know spotting is normal but..

Hello everyone,

I was hoping my first post wouldn't be me freaking out but I am four weeks along and experiencing spotting since this past Thursday that is now turning into a little bit heavier bleeding/spotting this evening. When I called my doctor and made an appointment today for my first prenatal visit, they said they do not have patients come in who are less than 8 weeks. I explained about the spotting I was having as well as the nervousness and that it was my first child and was brushed off by the nurse as well as other friends who had kids. Five days seems like a lot for spotting and strange for it to get heavier rather than lighter. Can anyone tell me if I should go to the hospital to be taken to get checked out or am I just being protective and nervous about the unknown? Thank you so much!!

I started spotting at 5 weeks went in at 6 weeks only because I thought I was 7 weeks and they refused to see anyone before 7. My spotting never went away. I miscarried at 9 weeks. I was horrified, but everyone told me wait 3 months to try again. :) I got pregnant right away like a week between both pregnancies!!! Now I am 29 weeks with a very active baby boy in there. Good luck and also its okay to try again

First blood test came back 78. Gave more blood today to have to compare. Still hopeful that those results will come back with some positive results. Wishing you ladies much success with your little blessings!

I know what you are going through. I got pregnant last year and was having spotting as well and I didn't get seen till 2 weeks after. I ended up having a miscarriage and its very hard to deal with. Progesterone pills help sometimes if your levels are low. I never lost hope and did all I could. It's worth a try but don't give up. I am now pregnant again and praying god will let me have a beautiful healthy baby this time around. I wish you the best of luck and god bless. Keep Ur head up and pray and don't give up yet

I think its a new thing I always went to dr as soon as I found out and this time they told me 8 weeks as well or to the best of my knowledge when I will be 8 weeks so I made appt for when I will he 7 weeks since I know I have a history of bleeding in first trimester for various reasons. Good luck and I agree if its a little more than spotting go to hospital thats what I do.

Thank you guys! I go back to the doctor  today to give my second round of blood and check my Hcg levels. My boyfriend and I are petrified. But I will say how much I truly appreciate these communities! It is so wonderful to know you're not alone on many fears or when you're symptoms seem strange, to talk to one another and provide support and advice. It is a beautiful thing. I've been praying for good news today! Hope you ladies are doing great!

I am so sorry for the news you received, I hope she was wrong. My doctor saw me right away at 4 weeks when I had a positive home test. And they should defffinitely not brushbyou off anytime you are feeling anxious, but espe ially for spotting! You need a new docotr!

Thank you both so much! I just came back from the doctor's and she said my levels are very low in the urine test and that I most likely miscarried. She had no bedside manner so my next time around, I will search for a doctor that fits my personality more as that is important to me. I go in on Thursday for another blood test and to get the results from this one. Here's hoping!!

Go get checked out spotting or bleeding is not normal with every woman when I had spotting I miscarried but I also know other women that have had spotting and been fine but always let a doctor check you out and decide if it is normal or not

Definitely go to the hospital, even if it's just for your own peace of mind. Good luck!
