Just another labor story :)

Hey mommas, I always liked reading other people's labor stories so I just thought of posting mine :)

I woke up yesterday, Thursday, at 1am with a very strong contraction and immediately felt something leaking down there. Went to the bathroom and when I wiped I saw lots of fluid with some green in it. I wasn't sure what was it, maybe the mucus plug, so I just went back to bed. I couldn't sleep, my contractions were 2-4 minutes apart. I felt another discharge down there, it was the same greenish thing. So I woke up my hubby and told him. I then called the midwife to comment what was going on. She said she didn't like the greenish part so she told me to go to the hospital. Hubby and I showered, got our hospital bag and left.

Once in the hospital I got checked at the ER. The midwife said my water broke and the greenish color was due to baby pooping inside. I was only 1cm dilated but was admitted at 3am to keep baby monitored. At 4am I was checked again and has already progressed to 3cm dilation. Officially in labor, I was taken to the dilation room. I walked around, I used the ball and the pool. After almost an hour in the pool I was at 4cm and ready for epidural. This was 8am. I rested and slept for the rest of the dilation period. At 1pm I was ready to push. The baby was too high and wouldn't come down so it took quite a bit. At one point, her heart rate was really slow, below 60, everyone got scared and began to rush to take her out one way or another. We waited for the longest 5 minutes ever to hear her heart rate go up again. Then pushed some more and she was here! Barely teared, just one stitch.

She's absolutely perfect :)

I thought labor would be so much difficult but it was really natural and flowing. Go for it ladies, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did
