Pls Answer !

Has anyone been sick with a cold, flu, virus, strep throat etc and being very close to delivering or given birth while sick w/any of the above ??
Im 38 +3 and have managed to not get sick my entire pregnancy up until now. My throat is super swollen  (no fever yet) body aches and cough. I'm afraid of going into labor while being sick. Am I able to take antibiotics for an illness? My doc just always advised me to head to L & D if I ever had a fever. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

It is very common to get a cold a week or 2 out from having a baby. My midwife from baby number 1 told me it was to do with our bodies preparing for our babies. Look after yourself. I just had a nasty cold and manged to keep on it with basic pain killers, sucking on boiled butterscotch lollies, sucking on dark chocolate for my cough (it works), lemon hunny drinks and rest. All the best. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm finally just better after fighting a chest infection and cold for the last month and a half thank god! I thought I was going to be sick when my baby was born (I'm 35 weeks) my doctor said when you are pregnant amoxicillin is ok to take but sadly I'm allergic to it so she gave me erethomycn instead and that got rid of my chest infection. Don't know if that helps at all maybe see if your doctor will prescribe you something. Best of luck hope you feel better

No experience I'm sorry but hot water with lemon and honey will help your throat. I wouldn't take any medicine other than tylenol until you talk to your dr. Do you have a humidifier? I would put that on.
