I have never had a baby yet, but my mother retained the placenta with both me and my sister. With me they did an emergency d&c on the table, but with my sis she only retained part, and they didn't know, so she hemmorhaged a week later and had to go back in. My midwife knows about it, and the birth center is near the hospital, so I hope everything is fine. My grandmother retained the placenta for two of her pregnancies, and she has seven children, so maybe it won't happen for you this time around. Good luck.
Thanks! I'm just worrying, I always have easy deliveries three pushes and the baby's out but the final stage scares me and my husband. I feel sorry for him he about passed out the last two times because of the retained placenta. Looking back on it, the look on his face was priceless when the doctor was all the way inside of me!
