Mine wouldnt do it :'( it stunk cuz I ended up with a blood clot scare. Between a long labor and 7 hours of pushing to end up with a c section, my bottom half was gone for almost 24 hours.
Ok, this is the first I'd heard of it too. Interesting. ...
My hospital does them.. im considering it bc i will have free roam of the l&d area and not be confined to a bed.. plus my doc recommended it bc youre able to get up and move sooner after the birth as well..
No prob! Found links to other forums that women commented their experiences on.. im sure youll find some too!
Thats what ive been reading on google and if they do a walking epidural they want let you walk around you are still confined to bed. You can still feel your legs and move them though. I guess it's something I will have to talk to the anethesiologist when I go to see what they do and don't do. Thanks for the info! Good Luck to you all!!!
Most birthing centers and hospitals won't do a walking epidural anymore due to liability issues if you fall. So once you get an epidural, you are stuck in bed.
I will look on google. Thank you twinsmamarae!
The only difference with a regular epidural and walking epidural is hiw far they insert the cathter into your spinal cavity and the amt/ type of meds they give you.. one numbs you completely and is a 'spinal block' epidural and the other is just pain meds going into your spine instead of a vein. Id like to hear some stories from women whove had a w.e. but im thinking its rarely used if people havent even heard of it.. we cld prob find stories on google though @lousil
Me either never heard of a walking epidural.i always thought epidurals were injected into your back which numbed everything from the waist down.ive never had an epidural as I like to get out of hospital straight away.

Bump! Id like to hear about this too bc im considering it too!
