after being checked

Anyone else have pain and fatigue after being checked? Also, I have a brown discharge now. Got checked about 9 hours ago and everything is just starting now. 41 weeks. Any opinions?

Yeah I had a midwife check me halfway through my first pregnancy and it was so PAINFUL...I cramped for days and spotted for days. That midwife and I did NOT get along for the rest of the pregnancy because she ignored when I told her how bad it was hurting.

Maybe call back and let them know you're still spotting, but it know it went on for a few days for me.

How long is it normal for? I'm still spotting and it's been 3 days...it's brown and red.

At that far along I wouldn't be worried. It's probably just old blood from your mucus plug which has begun to dislodge. Poking around in there has loosened it probably. And if you want to labor at home as long as possible (some women do) then don't feel pressured to rush in at first signs of labour!

Keep in mind, internal checks can SLIGHTLY increase risk of infection so if you are getting a lot of pain in one area without proper uterus cramps, plus feeling achy, feverish and fatigued (more than usual), you might want to get checked for an infection. But chances are it's all good, just your body getting nice and prepared. Good luck in your upcoming birth!

Its very normal to spot and have discharge after cervical check. If u start having consistent contractions or back labor pain u will know its time!

Awesome! Thank you. I'm starting to get crampy feeling in my back and around the lower part of my belly too. Nothing serious but its just a real slight blah feeling. I think I may let it go on for another hour. Time the cramping. See what the discharge does and go from there. This is stressful

I would call labor and delivery and see if they think you should come in. If nothing else it will ease your mind. At 41 weeks could definitely be the start of labor. If it becomes bright red blood definitely go on in that was my sign to go to the hospital with my first.
