Move out...I smoke but never around my children. I do not allow smoking in my house and people think I am crazy because I smoke but they have to smoke out side when they come to my house... children with asthma go to the error a lot if allowed to be around smoke..
To reduce SIDS, you should avoid having anyone smoke around your child. Its not just about asthma. As far as during pregnancy, I don't know the statistics but second hand smoke can be as bad as actually smoking I think. For sure, show them some statistics on the effects of smoking on mother's and babies. If they still don't care, like others said it may be time to be somewhere else. Stay with another relative?
Depends on whose house it is. I'm very vocal and annoying. So with my first I was still living with my grandmother and my cousins smoked. I would just yell or cry or be bossy whatever I had to do. They got tired of me and used the outside garage.
Not good. Second hand smoke is bad for baby when they are in your belly so when they are born it isn't good either. They ask me at every appointment if child is around anyone that smokes.
sounds like you might not have other options or you would take them so if you "have" to stay there, open windows and stay in a well ventilated room. if they don't respect the baby now, it won't change when its born. weigh your options and stay strong for yourself and the baby. I know its hard but your the only one that can do it. my prayers are for you and good luck
My parents do and their house reeks of it, my husband has asthma and when I'm over there just to catch a bus to my job she starts them up without reguarding what it does to me and our baby inside, she knows I'm pregnant Ahd forgets obviously, I don't wanna be rude but God the house smells horrible, I never noticed till my husband married Me and pulled me out of there, he says don't say anything its their house, but our house we don't allow any cigarette smoking period. Its why only temporary there for few hours, then gone, covering my nose over there, my husband suggests his own bought gas mask lol
I'd move out. I am the same as you and so is my baby. You definitely don't want your potential asthmatic child to be around that. You'll have your hands full. My daughter was sick enough without smoke. Plus, you have to think of if your baby could be allergic to it. Depending on whom you live with I would ask if they can change, if not spouse or bf, I'd would say you would have to move out.
Move out. They sound like disrespectful jerks.
