I get muscle spasms on my leg at night. Usually depends what side I'm sleeping on. I've actually Woken up screaming. I've learned that it's because I'm lying on a nerve so I switch sides more often now.

Try putting a pillow behind you so you still feel like you are laying on your back.

My legs feel horrible during the night unless i use a pillow between my legs. I'm 26 weeks now.  I fell asleep without it one night and woke up nearly in tears. It may also be a sign that you should stop lying on your back as it restricts blood flow. I had a hard tine with this since I'm a back sleeper also. I try to sleep on either side now. My doctor told me back sleeping was ok until about 20 weeks.

I don't recall anything like that happening to me with my kids. Pregnancy comes along with tons of different and weird symptoms and pains. If it continues or get worst, call your doctor. I'm sure it's fine. Best of luck
