I asked about it because it was waking me up at night lately and my dr told me tums, gaviscon and if it still bugging me I could take zantac once a day and it would be safe for me and baby...

all are over the counter so I didn't need a script to get them.   have you talked to your dr about it yet?

I have the similar situation since the week 6 although I am only in week 14 as if today. I only get some relief by having yoghurt or any high fiber cookie that will absorb the acid. Sometimes it really is so bad that my throat gets raw and I can barely look at food. But I have found that if I do manage to eat I generally feel better.

I had heartburn/acid reflux so bad that I lost 20 lbs. My doctor had me take Prevacid (sp?) for 2 weeks. When that didn't work he gave me a prescription for Protonix  (sp?). It took 2 weeks for it to start working. I am now 26 weeks. I've gained some weight back but I still struggle with it some days. It's no where near as bad as it was in the beginning though.

Yeah all my pregnancies have been that way. Breadsoda and milk is great. But too much can sort off leave your throat sore. But since your almost due you probably be ok. I was drinking it from day one with my 2nd and 3rd baby. After a few months i couldnt swallow properly because of it. But it really really helped the heartburn.
Im 9 weeks with this baby a d its starting already but im trying to keep it at bay. Im drinking lots of milk and very little spicy things. It seems to be working as so far my heartburn is ok. It is usually alot worse by now. I also find eating an hour bwfore im due to lie down helps
