What it sounds like is the early parts of labor. Nipple stimulation has worked great for moving things along for me. As to how long, that just depends. Everyone and every labor is different. Good luck

My due date is today and I have been going through the exact same thing. Even had to take a zofran left over from my morning sickness yesterday. I've been up since 4 am with the same pains...and contractions sitting about 8 min apart but not progressing much...its like they are taking their time. A week ago I was dilated to 1 and 50% effaced. I'm not sure how long this will take ...I'm a ftm. But you're not alone....even at this exact minute..lol.....we will have to keep thus thread alive and update each other.

Nipple stimulation... Not just a few minutes during sex but lots of it just whenever... Pinch and roll your nipples in between your fingers alternate boobs every 4 minutes. So like left side for 4 minutes, and them right side for 4 minutes then rest for 2-4 minutes and repeat this for at least an hour and I can almost guarantee you will start having contractions and even if it doesn't send you into full blown labor, the contractions will dilate you more. I'm 38+ weeks and have been using nipple stimulation every day for a week now and I have gone from 1cm to almost 4cm also you can go to the store and but some evening primrose oil and insert 1-2 of the gel caps into your bag

it's been 3 days with the nausea and headaches....not to mention the severe pain trying to move.  Although when it comes to nipple stimulation, how do you handle it??? Mine are either extremely ticklish or sensitive that it's hard to touch them for too long.

Lol oops I said bag instead of vag sorry lol lol lol. Anyways, insert 2 gel caps into your vagina near your cervix (poke a hole in the gel cap first) and the oil will soften your cervix and the nipple stimulation work to dilate you.  But I totally recommend the nipple stimulation I has read tons about it and thought it  was completely nuts but amazingly it worked! It just takes time. I promise do it for at least an hour and you will have contractions.

If nipples are to sore for direct contact, I have been successfull with a breast pump. You're not actually trying (or expecting) to express but you may so make sure the collection bottle is attached. If you don't have a pump you can find directions on the net to hand express. Works amazingly.

castor oil will make you puke. And I haven't seen enough evidence of it actually working.

My nipples were super sensitive also but I just sucked it up and tried anyway and after about 10 minutes I was used to it and it totally worked! Just give it a shot... Anything that works right?

I've heard castor oil can make the baby pass his first bm before he comes out possibly leading to a lung infection.  So I've been afraid to try that one. Nip stimulation is perfectly safe though

Making hubby do it...since he won't get sex again for awhile after baby might as well let him adjust the radio.....I also am using some coconut oil (which I will use instead of lanolin after baby is born) and so its not too bad a couple minutes in...

So did it for an hour....more pain while it was happening. I'm about 30 min later and contractions aren't any closer but the intensity is slightly higher. Not enough to get me to go in sadly.

Btw...symptom check....are your abs sore? The last several days the feel like I just finished an intense ab workout.

Try sitting on the toilet and slowly curling over your belly. This is what my midwife had me do to get a slow labor moving forward. Fingers crossed! Btw...did you ever find Tokyo? ;)
