spotting

I just took a pregnancy test today and it was positive! I'm around 4 weeks. I did miscarry with my last at around 6 weeks. Started out spotting but got heavier. This time the spotting isn't bright red but more of a darker almost brown. Is that normal? I haven't made my doctors appointment yet. Can't call till tomorrow. Just looking for some piece of mind considering what happened last time.

Thank you so much for your comment! It has really helped me calm down some. I do have some cramping but nothing like when I miscarried. I will let my doctor know about the spotting. I did spot bright red the day before my period was expected as well but then nothing for a couple days and now this. No clots though. I do feel a little better about it now. Thanks again

Spotting is normal, as long as it's not bright red, cramps, clots etc. I had 2 early miscarriages previously which started off as spotting and gradually got worse with horrific cramps. This time I had spotting from 2 days before my period was due up until week 7! The difference was I had no pain or clots. Mainly it was brown but did have some that was bright red, which scared me. I am now nearly 33 weeks. Mention it to your doctor when you go to get your pregnancy confirmed and they can check it out for you. Hope everything is ok for you. Will send you positive thoughts
