I read that stretch marks are genetic so if your mom or sister got them chances are you will too. That it doesn't matter how much coco butter or anything you do...if you're going to get them, you're going to get them.
I did a little research of stretchmarks before I got pregnant, and this is what I found..
1) Hydrate. Both from inside and out, baby oil or fat creams -go for it. But also, water water water.. your skin needs it! Not only when pregnant, always.
Models often drinks a lot of water to keep their skin beautiful - and it works. So drink plenty.
2) Support, get proper underwear belly support to help your body keeping it in place.
Stretchmarks are more likely to appear on your second or third pregnancy. Allow your body to recover and do your best to get back to your previous shape after birth.
If you do get stretchmarks, do what you can to prevent getting more and there is lazer treatment you can do to help them fade, but they may always be there.
I hope this helps!
Take care girls
I use coconut oil... so far it has been working good, cause i have dry skin :-)
Thank you so much ladies I will be trying some of these for sure
Almond oil works . .atleast for me so far. My mother tells me to use it everytime i feel like scratching and never scratch! Thats what causes them alot
I have 4 kids and im pregnant with my 5th i use coco butter and crisco the thick one and i have no stretch marks that my remedy
You'll either get them or you won't. Nothing to prevent them. Can help them fade with oils, lotions and creams but that's about it
Use Frank bod for after your pregnancy, look it up, I haven't tried it but I am planning on using it.
An "old school" family remedy in my family for stretch marks is Olive Oil!
I'm 31 weeks (ftm) & I still have no stretch marks I've used Palmers cocoa butter formula for stretch marks ever since I found out I was pregnant. Don't ever itch !!!! If you feel an itch pick up a bottle of lotion and use it lol. I hope this helps you out ((:
I used mederma. my stretch marks disappeared. they do go away depending on the person.
I will def be trying the baby oil... I've been using cocoa butter for stretch marks but they still came out... And I'll do it 10 times again for my baby boy :)
I have 3 children and am expecting AGAIN but I dont have a single stretch mark. Baby oil with cocoa butter is part of my daily skin regime. Keep em moisturized and NEVER scratch. And dont freak out about em. I know girls with no kids that have stretch marks. At least you have a GREAT Reason
I was told baby oil can make them fade as well thats what i'm gonna try
Thanks for the tip..
Getting them to fade is better then nothing
They will fade over time, but will never go away. I have ones from my first pregnancy just over 10 years ago, and have new ones from the baby I delivered 11 days ago. If you tan l, that will make them stand out more. Anyway, don't waste your time and money on expensive creams/lotions that claim to make stretch marks go away...they don't. You may be able to help your skin elasticity by applying Vitamin E oil, but again, those marks never go away completely.
