when do you take maternity leave?

I'm due way in Feb. Feb 18th. But this is my 1st pregnancy but I'm hoping I can work up to a week before my due date. My boyfriend thinks I'm being unrealistic and I should stop working in Jan. But that would be damn near 2 months of boredom. What do you guys think?

With my first I worked up to having her...I worked a M-F schedual and she was born Saturaday morning.
Because my labor and delivery was so fast with my first I started maternity leave with my second a week and a half before I was due, though I was schedualed for an induction on the Saturday before I was due, just so that I wouldn't end up having the baby home alone with my 2 year old daughter.
My second was born naturally the Wednesday morning before induction...so it was a good thing my last day to work was the Friday before.
This one...I am a stay at home wife/mommy so I will probably send my kinds to my parents (or their biological father) the week before I am due...just incase.

I'm due Dec 25th and i'm planning on working right up until Dec 19.  my office is closed at that point for Christmas anyways so I'm going to try for that date. that being said I was 12 days early with my first child.  So I may not make it to the planned day this time.

I thought I would go out at 36/37 weeks but I was taken out this week, I'm 29 weeks. I stand 12 hours a day at work and was having contractions regularly. At first I thought I would be bored but it actually feels nice to get some rest before the baby comes.

Jan sounds good. You will very likely be so tired and desperate for sleep by then.
I am now 5months and I can't wait to go on maternity leave.
I am exhausted all the time and every week it gets worse.
I'll leave one month before my due date.. and my last month at work I'll cut down on my hours.
You'll not be bored. You'll probably be tired.

I didn't want to until Aug 1st but due to pre term labor I was put on disability June 11 by my Dr. Its been a roller coaster. Dr told me yesterday she's not stopping my contractions anymore. So if she comes, she comes. I have a feeling it's soon.

I'm 30 weeks and 5 days but I depending on how I feel I think I'll take my leave no sooner than 37 weeks. Like it was said above it depends on your job... I work at a job where I work fulltime hours and I stand pretty much the whole 8 hour shift and I'm starting to have problems with my back... I'm actually considering going to part time hours starting next month seeing how I'll be 33/34 weeks by then... If I had a an office job I'd probably work until 39 weeks or until I went into labor... But you have a long time to figure out as long as your pregnancy is healthy. Just listen to your body... It will let you know when to rest believe me!

Depending on the job their should be no reason you can't work up until your due date.  I am currently 36w 4d and still working 5 days a week, but i have a desk job. You still have plenty of time, let your body tell you when you need to slow down or stop working.
