Went to see the doctor

I called the doctor and they wanted me to come right in yesterday morning.  He examined the spot on my booby and finally concluded he "thinks" it is a boil.  My doc usually doesn't dilly dally around with examinations, he never has. But he looked at this thing for a good 2 to 3 minutes, and really made me nervous. After the exam he gave me a rx for anitbiotics and said if it isn't cleared up by next Monday, he is sending me to a general surgeon.  And then mentioned the "C" word, but he doesn't think it is cancer, it does not "present" like it.  Oh, my goodness.....not what I wanted to hear, not even in passing!!  Worry, worry, worry, that seems to be all I have been doing the last 6 months!!  Dh's father has a "worrisome mass" in his kidney (mri on Wednesday) and my bil is having a brain tumor removed on Feb. 15th.  You can imagine where my mind is going!!!  All I can do is pray this thing goes away by Monday.

I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.  Christina is right it could take a few days to notice any changes anf it may not go away completely.  Hang in there

So I went to my doc today, too, and had him re-look at my boil "down there" since it is not completely gone. I will be saying lots of prayers for you, but I also want to make sure you don't come completely unglued if it does not go away. My doc just told me that because of a number of reasons boils sometimes never completely go away until you either have them lanced or surgically removed.

So DON'T PANIC if your's doesn't show *much* size reduction. What's important to note over the next few weeks is if it does get smaller or if it gets bigger, if the antibiotics make the pain go away or not. My doc asked if mine has gotten smaller, and to be honest I am not 100% sure as when the thing hurt like an SOB it was hard to press on it to get an accurate feel, but I *think* it's gotten smaller. He said it's important to know as tumors don't get smaller.

Also, remember that antibiotics take a few days to kick in and work so don't panic if you don't see any change over the next couple of days.

Good luck and please keep us updated!
Christina

Oh I'm sure that can't be it. You'll see.. those antibiotics will knock it right out..

Try your best not to entertain these thoughts. I know it is hard..

I'm really sorry.. I know this is not fun for you to say the least..
