We went in for a US at 6 weeks and we didnt see anything. (after 2 miscarriages, we thought it was the same ole road for us) We went back in 1 1/2 weeks later (7w5d) and we were able to see a HB. That 1 week did a LOT. And...not only were we able to see a HB, we actually saw 2 HBs. We knew nothing just 9 days ago. Yes- I stressed for a week and a half. now....more stress until the next US to see if all is good in there.
Good Luck to you!!!!!
I saw the heartbeat of my son at 8weeks3days. It measured 3 or 4 days more, but I knew exactly when he had been conceived (natural pregnancy).
You're going to worry a lot for these 6 coming weeks, you probably should have a 48 hours blood test to measure the hsg: that would tell you how the pregnancy is going and if a miscarriage is coming or if things are going OK.
Good luck!
Thinking about you Sally, and hoping for a good outcome!
thanks Everyone.
I saw my obe today.
We will let nature take it's course. If it will miscarry, it will miscarry naturally....
I am still deciding if i have the 12 week scan. It's not going to change anything, so I may not.... I'll see how I feel at the time....
My doctor offered me congenital screening. But I think i won't. I know at my age there is some risk, but I won't terminate the pregnancy regardless, so there's not really any point....
I see my doctor again about 12 weeks. (in 6 weeks).
I was measuring 4-7 days behind from 6-8 weeks. Then when I went in at 9 weeks, the baby had totally caught up. Also, didn't hear heartbeat at my 6 but heard it one week later at 7. Hang in there!
You will definitely see heartbeat at 6 weeks and at least 4 days of pregnancy!i wish you the best!
Thanks everyone.
Well, I did the u/s. But I wish i hadn't and had waited at least another 2 - 3 weeks. The good news is that it's not ectopic, and that there is one sac only. So I don't have to worry about that part and at least there is nothing obvious causing the abdominal pain.
However, according to my dates based on IUI, i should be 6 weeks today.
Based on my Last period, they say I should be 5 weeks and 4 days.
Based on the size of the sac, it is only 4 weeks and 6 days. So it is measuring at least 5 - 7 days behind where it should be.
So I am reconciling myself to a likely miscarriage in the next few weeks, but hoping that I could be wrong and possibly there is still an early healthy baby in there.
Not helped by the fact I saw my endo today. The first thing he said was "Congratulations! I've never had a patient with so many problems actually get pregnant before!". I could feel like crying!
Oh and I'm beginning to have problems controlling blood sugar and insulin is now increased, plus I've been given a different type of insulin to try.
Am praying ad hoping. But I want a healthy baby. So if this one is not to be, I will definitely try again.
Hi Sally, congratulations on your pregnancy! Both my pregnancies heartbeats were detected about 7wks. I'm sure you're super excited to find out, but I think if you wait another week or so the results will be more accurate. Please let us know, and best of luck to you! Pam
With my first some saw it 6w5d, 2nd son 7w1d, and this one 6 weeks on the dot. Some cramping in early pregnancy is normal, I had a lot with this one. But with your abdominal surgery I would have it just to make sure all is well. Good luck to you.
When i first fond out i was pregnant i was 6 weeks and had alot of pain and pressure. I thought i was trying to miss carry and went to the ER. When they did the sonogram they did hear a heartbeat or see the yolk just a sac. I to was worried about etopic or chemical. I went for my first doct appt a week later and he immediately ordered a sonogram and we had a heartbeat and seen our beanie. I am now 16 weeks and doing fine.
With any women, there is always a risk for an ectopic pregnancy, but with your history of abdominal surgery, you might do as your doctor suggests and have the u/s done. I just wouldn't take any chances. You wouldn't have to stress so much, either, once you see that heartbeat and see your little gummy bear IN the womb. Then you can put off any further u/s's until you are further along.
Please report to your doctor about the pain you are having. Hopefully, if it is adhesion pain, those adhesions will break lose as the pregnancy continues. You may be the lucky one and not have alot of adhesions from your surgery anyway.
I was told that the time to worry, believe it or not, is 15 to 20 years down the line. I have lots of pain across my hysterectomy scar that I had 30 year ago. They said it is attached to a loop of my intestine. I also have adhesions from other abdominal surgery, but it never started bothering me until years and years later. I wonder if that's the way doctor's still believe. I certainly wouldn't want to tell you anything that isn't medically correct.
Even though you had appendicitis in the very early stages of your pregnancy with Michaela, I do remember you talking about alot of side pain in the early months. It was a complicated case since you had to have surgery while you were pregnant, so it's always best to discuss any pain like that with your OB.
Take care of yourself dearheart. Don't be stubborn and at least tell the doctor what is going on and see if you can get in for an u/s.
I send all my love,
Heather
i had my first US at 6 weeks 3 days (IVF baby) and we did see the heart beat.
good luck!
