37 weeks with brackston hicks 3 mins apart

Hi all,

Im 37 weeks in a day. All day I have been getting a tightening in my tummy...its not painful and it feels up high..i.wouldnt know if this is what you call brackston hicks as its my 1st pregnancy. iv been timing them for the last 2 hours and they are 3 minutes apart...lasting about 10 seconds.
each time i get the tightening i feel alot of pressure on my vagina which stops when the tightening does.
is this normal? is this brackston hicks?

Thanks

my b/h have got regular like this  especially during late pregnancy, so much so that I have begun to time them, this is why they so often get mistaken for early labour, even doctors can mistake them and they show up as contractions when your on a moniture as well, but as you said if your in doubt or anyway worried there is no harm in going to get checked out, , what leads me to be pretty sure that they are not labour contractions  is that they are high up, typically labour contractions/pains are low down, the whole tummy contracts, but the pain is low

It's actually a bit perplexing.  I agree that if this was real labor at 3 minutes apart you would be feeling a whole lot more then pressure.  However, typically braxton hicks are not regular like that.  I agree with the others, give your OB a call.  It is always best to err on the side of caution.  Whatever the case, it won't be long now!!  Good luck to you!

Its braxton hicks, they can get quite painful and regular comming to the end of pregnancy , and alot of the time they can be mistaken for early labour, one way to tell for sure is to jump into a nice warm bath or shower for at least 10 min, if  its  braxton hicks they will settle down, labour pains will get stroner (painful) and get closer together, if this was labour pains comming every 3 min you would be in ALOT of pain by now :)

Anything pretty regular in terms of timing, frequency...you should contact your OB.
