worried of past action affecting my baby..

hello,
i am not 30 yet, but i find this forum much comfortable to discuss my poblem. my doc just confirmed today that i am pregnant. the baby is unexpected but is welcome and loved anyways. my dilemna is, i attended a victory party 2 days ago. drank brandy and consumed a pack of ciggy. was smoking too prior to the party, max of 6 sticks a day. i am afraid that wht i did will affect my baby. is there a way to maybe reverse the effects so my baby would be fine? i'm scared

Congrats on your baby. Just don't do those things anymore. I found out 4 months into pregnancy that I was pregnant did not even know. During those months I was on crazy diets and exercise routine plus drinking wine. I had gained weight and was trying to lose it by any means necessary. Once I found out I was pregnant I felt guilty rushed to the doctor and told him about my wrong doings, he checked me said baby was fine but no more drinking and no more crazy dieting.

Today I am 39 weeks and my baby is healthy, your baby can and will be healthy too, just follow your doctors advice and good luck.

Your be ok! I didn't find out I was pregnant until 8 weeks; I had surgery, was on a ton of pain killers, was smoking, drank on new years etc. I couldn't believe it when I found out I was expecting!

I was out with my sister having dinner at about 10 weeks. I without thinking order a margarita.  When it arrived I sipped at it but my sister kept giving me strange looks so I asked her what's wrong. She pointed out I was drinking and pregnant.  Funny thing is I had not had a drink prior to that in 5 yrs.  I immediately stopped sipping and let my sister finish it for me.  I was embarrassed and worried too. What had I done. My baby is just fine although I'm still embarrassed.
