Please pray super hard today for baby Lukas (now almost 24 weeks). My own blood karyotype should come back from Genzyme labs--as many of you know I'm praying really hard that somehow I also carry the supernumerary chromosomes that showed up in my amnio--the likelihood isn't that good, but I'm still holding onto a thread of hope. If not, I will be in the same painful situation of uncertainty, either until they can determine a known disorder from Lukas abnormal DNA or decide it's a de novo event (new) which will mean waiting until Lukas is born. De novo is the better option  in my mind since I can always pray that it isn't as horrible as what some of the diagnosed anomalies mean for Lukas and us. I don't know if they'll have me come in or just tell me over the phone. Probably depends on how bad the news is and if they think I'll have a breakdown.

I really need some good news tomorrow or I might be asking for meds (seriously). I still have to somehow tell my 4 year old, I can't even face telling him he has a baby brother on the way... it hurts to even think about it.

I've been in communication with Sleepless_Mom, and just want to let you all know that nothing has really changed.  She and baby Lukas still need our prayers.  I don't think she'll mind me letting you know.  I know what it feels like to worry and not hear any news so I wanted to let you know.

Genzyme is one of the best and most advanced genetic labs nationally. Every high risk perinatologist ( and I've spoken with many) said if they can't find it no can. There sadly is no question that the anomaly is there since it is in every meiotic cell of my baby (this is not a blood test, they are working at the DNA level with Lukas' cells) is affected. The prayer is that somehow it is non-coding DNA. Thank you all for your support and prayers. I'm a mess and it's been really difficult not to agree with the "experts" to terminate. But I know what comes of baby Lukas' life is up to God not me.

yes... I will be the first to tell you.. My lab.. is for the pits.. they had me all wrong with my afp bloodwork...  waa all messed up..due date, they had me african american and Im not. and I never found this out till I went and got my amnio done at a diffrent hospital.. so
anyway... dont just listen to one side...because nylena is right.. get a second look somewhere else befor you take any pills. alls it takes is a simple thing to throw those numbers off.
