First time pregnancy.

So, Sunday I learned that I was 5wks 3days. I've never been pregnant before and will be 37 in March. I've often been told that pregnancy is more difficult the older you get. Is that true? Or does age really matter? We are both excited and our parents are too. Why kind of tips can you share for a first time pregnancy? House cleaning tips help too. I was told not to lift laundry baskets or take out the trash (let hubby do that).

You can still do all those things...I was lifting and moving 40 lb boxes in my 3rd trimester. Trash and laundry baskets are fine...

I'm 37, prego with #4. Had first 2 @ 25 and 27 years old, and #3 @ 36. I have found pregnancy to be about the same each time. It is physically inconvenient, but tolerable. As far as activity, I'm a registered nurse on a cardiac surgical unit. Loads of activity, lifting, long hours. Worked right up until due date. I've been fine physically, but if you want to get out of chores, pregnancy is a great excuse :-). Congratulations!!!

Some doctors say dont put your arms above your head, some don't. Id eer on the side of caution! (I'm going to anyway) I remember painting my house with my first one but I was only 30. I'm 39, and I'm going to be training my other kids to be doing a LOT more around the house as I really am excited too and would like to keep it. Do some mediation - it helps me feel calm I feel I can communicate with the baby it's nice. Eat lots of good food - stay well away from sugar in the first trimester. Take a good quality preg vitiman, folic acid and a fish oil (Mercury free) . Relax more

Some doctors will tell you not to lift anything above your head some won't. Just continue on with the way you do things and rest when you can. I am almost 9 weeks and 35 years old and this is my second and it is wearing me out.
