Age 42 trying ovulation induction with timed intercourse

Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum.  I was just wanting to hear of any success stories of ladies over 40 who have had any success with ovulation induction and timed intercourse, rather than IUI?  I'm almost 42, with only one fallopian tube (owing to previous ectopic pregnancy).  I conceived naturally at 38 and had my wonderful son at age 39.  I had a failed (bungled?) IVF attempt in 2010, but then fell pregnant naturally a few months later only to find out at our 13 week scan that bub had died at 12 weeks.  We were absolutely devastated as we've been trying for over 2 years.  We know we can conceive naturally, I just think I need a bit of assistance in getting my eggs prepped!  Has anyone had luck using ovulation induction and timed intercourse in their 40s?  Or should I just throw all my money and effort at IVF?

Hi bevfly, I had my ectopic in May 2007 at age 38.  My right tube ruptured and I had it removed.  I was diagnosed with mild-moderate endometriosis at the same time they did the surgery.  Fortunately I was able to conceive again about 3 months later which resulted in my beautiful son.  Have you had an HSG to check that your other tube is ok?
