Please consider traditional spellings, as it will drive your kid crazy to have a name that everyone automatically assumes by the way that it sounds, is spelled one way, and is in fact not spelled that way.  (For example, everyone in the universe will hear Davyd as David.  You run the risk that by the time little Davyd is 12, he will probably inform you that his name is now Jack.)  If you want more creative or unusual names, that's great, just choose one that is creative in its normal form, like Dorcas or Logan.  Dylan is a very handsome name, and has what you want without anyone being confused by the spelling.  If you like the added y in words, look up some Welsh names.  Have you heard the name Lael?  It's quite a pretty L name.

Wowza!  Real tongue twisters!  I have a Carson and a Dawson and often call them Darson in a fluster!  If you like the rhythm of those names with the "y" spelling, than Dylan is real cute!  You could choose Dawson and spell it, Dasyn.  I believe this is a Native American spelling, but it does follow your theme!  :)

I know they are tongue twisters, off course we get their names twisted all the time. But they know who are talking to...lol. yeah I love the names with the letter "Y"in them. Dasyn is cute, sounds like a girl name, huh? Thanks for your name suggestion.

I beleive in my post it was simply said any "D's" and "L's" name suggestion. My son Davyd is 11, and he loves his name he does not have any compliants, actually it fits his peronality. He likes to correct people when they mispell his name. And as you can see I dont like traditional way of do things...very boring to me! I do like Lael, is it boy or girl name? Its close to my name.

I like Donovan Landon...but, like Annie, I like traditional spellings. Maybe because I've had to spell my last name a gazillion times in my life (it's a Czech name), I'm sensitive to that. And enjoying the novelty of a non-traditional spelling may wear off by the time your son is an adult...trust me, having your name misspelled ALL THE TIME *****. My first name is Tricia, and I can't tell you how I hate it when my name is misspelled. It's also minor - but has always bothered me - that I can't ever find those name tag thingies with my spelling! LOL. Anyway...just my opinion, of course. Even traditional spellings get messed up. Being sensitive to this, I named my oldest Alexandra. Pretty. Not too common. Easy to spell. Well, all through elementary school people spelled her name Alexandria. Oh well. LOL.

Oh - funny side note...there's a professional soccer player from this area that went to high school with my oldest named Landon Donovan (first and last name).

Ugh. Correction. He went to the same high school as my daughter...not at the same time.

I also love tradition spellings for names.  Love love love Donovan--that was a contender if I had another boy--very strong name.  And Landon, was my doctors last name for the longest time, and I told him then (almost 15 yrs ago) if I ever had a son, Landon would be in it...of course I changed my mind, but I do love Donovan Landon.  Actually, Landon Donovan flows better.  Have fun choosing, it's the best part!

That's fine that you like traditional way of name spelling. But you didnt come on telling me tp "Please consider " traditional spelling just because that's your way. And I Thank you for that. I am sensitive to whatever when it comes to my kids names or anything eklse that concerns them. I beleive its the choice of the parents to decide, because everyone is not going to like what you choose. And you are right some people mispell traditional names, so that further let's me know to name them what you feel comfortable with.

Yeah I love Donovyn's name as well, it means dark warrior. I put Legend as his middle name. Now Devyn has Landon as his middle name, ...lol..because I use to love Micheal Landon off Little House on the Prairie.

Once I do find the name its going to stick(hopefully), Oh I googled Landon Donovan..wow

Love your names!! I like unique spellings. :)

Do you know what you're having? Delyla is cute, and I love Lael, too! I also like Lia (or Liya, or Leeya...) for a girl, and Destiny, Desyree, Lysa or Lyssa, and Lyric(k).

For a boy, Deryck, Denver (not sure how to put a 'y' in there, LoL), Dustyn, Daymon...Liam, Lee, Luke or Lukas, and Leland.

Destiny is out I have a friend whose daughter name is Destiny. I like Desyree. I have another friend who is one month begind me she is going to name her baby Lyric. Yeah, I like Lael too.  I like Deryck, its kinda like my Davyd, an older name with a twist to the spelling. That's funny you say you like Denver, I like Dakota! Already have middle name Lee.

What about Dylan Lake, I say Lake because my husband loves to go fishing! LAKE is an unique name. If I went with that one I would love to hear what family would have to say...lol..or  Deryck Lake? Delyla Lauren? Delyla London?

I know, Dylan is kinda common, but Lake makes it stand out because its different. I think I am going to stick with Lake for the middle for sure.

What you think about this spelling Lareynne, or Larynn, for Lauren?

It will be pronounced "Lare-in" instead of "Lor-in"  What about Loryn or Lorin if you like Lauren?

yeah, i see what your saying. I like the "y". So I could do Loryn or Lorynn. Or I can just do Lauryn, like Lauryn Hill the singer, Either one looks nice. Thanks!

Well, I read through your entire post - so many names, I'm still not sure if these were suggested already so I thought I'd post 'em anyway - Dayne, Layne  or Laine (Laine would be pretty for a girl) Daniyelle...(Danyelle just doesn't look right :).  Layla or Leila..possibly Lyndsey..or Lindsey Daye?  Cant wait to see more posts! This is the fun stuff :)
