I have a question on miscarriage

II am 46 years old.  I tested positive for pregnancy May 1st.  My Dr. suggested checking hcg beta every week considering my age. Here's the numbers:

6/7 228
6/12 125 (dropped)

At this time the Dr. told me I would miscarry.  I was told to test hcg beta weekly to insure it went back to 0. I bleed lightly 6/12 and less 6/17.  Nothing more, ever. The following week

6/19 156
6/29 200
6/5  205
6/17 256
The rise after the drop and slight bleeding confused everybody but than when it again dropped they were ok.

7/19 113
7/26 56
7/3   18

Here is my question.  I still have not bleed any more since May 16th.  Should I have started my period by now? Also...maybe I am crazy...I do have children.  So I know what a full term pregnancy feels like.  ...but here is the crazy thing...I think I feel movement (flutters).  One night I thought I felt it so bad I lifted my top while laying down and said to my husband "look at my stomach" and after watching a few seconds he says, "it moved". WHAT!  Is this gas?  Just to confirm how not possible this is at 6 weeks an internal ultra sound found nothing. I have also gained 18 lbs!  Am I one of those crazy people who "make" themselves feel and look pregnant? It is not like I planned this pregnancy, and like I said I do have children...so I am not totally devastated with losing this one.  Sad as it is.  Anyone have comments?

The flutters/weight gain could be a number of things.  The best thing to do is consult your dr about this.  You've already had a u/s so an intrauterine pregnancy has been ruled out so I seriously doubt there's a viable pregnancy there as your hcg levels are bottoming out.  I wish I could be more help - it honestly sounds like your hormones are out of whack.

First off, you are not crazy!!  After m/c, your body does all sorts of strange things as it readjusts.  My system is completely messed up, gas is one of the things, and I will spare you the rest of the details..

However if you haven't had a normal period since your m/c and it was in May, I would schedule a Dr.;s appointment.  Everyone is different, but typically you should have a period within 5 to 6 weeks.  I had a D&C on June 1st, and have just finished mine.  They may want to do a blood test and another u/s just to make sure nothings left, or you may need to take something to "kick start" your period again.

I am sorry for your loss, although I am glad to hear you are handling it so well.  Good luck to you!
