Breastfeeding?

I'm thinking about doing it but I'm afraid of the pain clogged milk ducts and all that. Plus it seems time consuming I'll have to take him everywhere with me just so he can eat.  I also don't want him hooked because what if it's not for me. I don't need anymore to tell me that's what's best I just want honest reply on experiences with breastfeeding.

Cleaning bottles and measuring formula, plus packing a diaper bag with bottles formula and water are much more time consuming than sitting down, putting your feet up and getting the boob in babe's mouth. I couldn't imagine having to fumble with all that stuff in the middle of the night either. Yes there were times that all my baby would do is nurse and it felt overwhelming but I had to put it in perspective. It really is such a small fragment of time that our babies will need nourishment from our bodies.

I breastfeed my first 3 children.  I never had any problems.   I was able to use a breast pump and all of my children took a bottle.  They will take a bottle sometimes you have to try more than one kind of bottle/nipple though.  It gets easier the longer you do it and the more kids/ experience you have.

I breastfed my son for 6 months. After the first week, my nipples were very sore, and cracked. No clogged ducts tho. After 2 weeks the pain was gone. I will be honest with you tho, my son would not take a bottle after being breastfed, and this was very hard especially when there were times when I had to leave him and needed him to take a bottle. I found he was feeding almost every hour when breastfed, and he goes longer now he takes a bottle. But breastfeeding is best for bubs, and if you can do it, then great, but if not, don't beat yourself up about it. Good luck!

Hey. Well this is my first baby and i breastfeed to be honest it doesn't hurt and it never did i was in complete shock because i was told it hurts. Not sure if people exaggerate or I'm just lucky but that's my experience. To be honest my only complaint is milk wont stop coming out, i wake up all wet and hate iy on the up side baby loves it. As for if you can't do it then that's fine some woman really can't nothing wrong with that.

Hi I breast fed my son and it was wonderful. I never had any problems with clogged ducts either. It is painful at first but after a while your breasts get used to it and it won't hurt any more. They also have me theses gel pads at hospital that u put in the fridge and put over you nipples when they hurt they helped a lot. After u deliver ask for a lactation consultant they will come in and show you how to do it and answer all your questions. Its a wonderful bonding experience and worth at least trying for a few weeks until you & your baby get used to it. Then if you don't like it that's ok too. Feel free to ask more questions if you want. Good luck

Not everyone gets clogged milk ducts.  And the baby won't get "hooked." If you choose to bottle feed,  I doubt the baby will say no lol.  It's an easy transition to go from breast to bottle,  but you can't go from bottle to breast,  so it's worth it to give it a try.
