Concerned about blood when I had a bowel movement ...

I was not feeling well this evening. Partner took me to a neighbor (who is a friend of a friend) to watch the "UFC?" Fight. It was sick and the smell of the ber/alcohol made me sick. I eneded up running to the bathroom a zillion times thinking I was going to throw up- but Having diarhea at this unknown guys house with loads of people there. ell at 2 am- I finally left- partner stayed- said he was playing one more round of "Threes" at pool and coming home. I walked home and barely made it to the bathroom with more diarhea/loose stool. well now at 5:30 am- more ... bUT THIS TIME there is blood- at first I wasnt sure which place it was coming from- but pretty sure the back end- sorry if Im being gross. And it was mucousy/clotty ... Bright red. So now I am just scared and don't know what to think. This is my EIGHTH pregnancy and I have never had hemorhoids- ever in my life- and it doesn't hurt or burn or anything. ???

Do you think this is something serious- I am home alone (of course partner is AWOL) and don't really want to go to the ER so some unknown dr. can poke and pry at me--- I go to the doctor on Monday ...

Thank you :)

I went to the dr today.

He didnt seem that concerned about the blood after the bowel movement/diarhea. I do eat alot of granola- so maybe that gave me a little tear? I donno. It seemed like a lot of blood to me- and can be scary!

I told him about the hard tummy- didn't seem concerned.

Measuring at 15.5 weeeks and am 14 weeks- so really no big deal there- i guess.

Thanks all for your help ...

I've had the same symptoms from food poisoning (mucousy bleeding); from eating avocados (!) at a friend's house where I ended up spending the evening in their bathroom; and most recently from what turned out to be a long, flu-like bout with SOMETHING.

In other words, it was something different each time, so I didn't know at first each time what caused it. I made the (maybe bad) choice to wait-and-see each time--though I wish I hadn't the third time, since feeling ill wiped me out for a lot of October. But if I were pregnant, I wouldn't hesitate to phone my doctor's office or a nurse line at once and tell them all the yucky symptoms, even if all they can recommend is taking lots of liquids until coming in for an appointment.

I have to agree.  It's important to have this checked out today.  Chances are it is bleeding hemeroids even if you don't have other symptoms of them, but it's still important not to ignore it.  Please let us know how your doing.

I would suggest that you call your doctors office for guidance "today" (now) as  bleeding/passing clots/mucous like you have described is not normal (a lot of times there will be a nurse to answer after hours questions or at least directions on what do in with after-hours concerns).

Please bare in mind that any time you have bleeding/passage of clots during pregnancy, you need to let your doctor know  asap.  Its important to determine the cause  of bleeding and where it is coming from - sometimes it can be hard to distinguish between vaginal and anal bleeding and only a doctor can determine this effectively.   In any case, bright red clotty/mucous-like that is coming from either your anus of vagina needs to be investigated sooner rather than later.

Take care and please keep us updated.
