Thyroid

I just had my thyroid tested for the first time. My results came back on the very low end of normal. Has anyone else had experience with this/information about this. I am 14 weeks pregnant and very worried!

I was 40 & pregnant....so exited! I lost it at 9 weeks, less than a week before my three year old's birthday party. It took a whole year (to the month) to get pregnant again. We didn't tell anyone this time, didn't want to have to relive it over & over if it happened again. It did, at 9 weeks, it happened again, (two weeks before her party this time). We were devastated. I thought for sure it was my age. I was also noticing at that time that I was hot all the time & my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I went to my pcp. He did some blood tests & it came back "my thyroid was shot". I started seeing am Endocrinologist. Turns out I have hyperthyroidism, specifically, Graves Disease. Because I still wanted to get pregnant asap (I'm almost 42 at this point), we tried a med safe for pregnancy. Didn't work, so I switched to another one, things got worse. Finally my thyroid was so big you could see it just by looking at my neck & I would get light headed from raising my arms. We decided on surgery to take it out asap. From the time I was diagnosed to surgery was 9 months. I am 42 at this time & within two weeks I felt amazing! Wish I had done it sooner. I started my cycle a week after surgery & got pregnant immediately! At 10 weeks I started bleeding. I just knew it was happening again. (Christmas Eve & Christmas Day) it stopped & ultrasound showed baby OK. We were still extremely nervous. At 16 weeks I started bleeding again. Just for one day this time . I am now 43 & 24 weeks pregnant. I have seen a maternal medicine Dr, had the Harmony screening & everything is perfect. It's been a rocky pregnancy, but I believe things are ok now. Almost in my third trimester. My fingers are crossed!

I am in hypothyroid know since long time. With my pregnancy it was getting worse and I had to change my tyroxine pills (increase the pills from 125 to 150) on my week 5. the principal problem I get was an extreme exhaustion. The pb for the baby if it goes under the limit it may has an impact on the brain development. It is important to be well treated and followed to make sure to be within the average. I am seing a specialist, and everything is going normal since the change of my tyroxine level (medecine to take in my case)
As you are still within the average, you should not be overly concerned. Nevertheless, request from you GP an appiintment in emergency (due to pregnancy) to a specialist (as such you will not wait three months to see him) personally I get one appointment week 6, a follow up with a blood test and phone meeting week 12, again another blood test and a second appointment in week 20. I believe that I will still be restested following my second appointment.
