Should

My HCG levels are increasing, however, the numbers are not doubling. According to my doctor I am aproximately 6 weeks. I had an U/S last week and I was told that the pregnancy sac was aproxmiately 6 cm. A week later I had another U/S and the sac was 10cm. My doctor has informed me that since the Yolk Sac is not visible that this is considered abnormal pregnancy. I have had no bleeding or cramping. She has asked me to take another U/S in 5 days which will make me 7 weeks. My doctor has informed me that if no Yolk Sac is visible I should have an DNC. I am worried becuase the pregnancy continues to grow each week, however, the doctor has informed me that the Yolk Sac should be visible by 7 weeks.

You should have a heartbeat by your 7 week ultrasound too as well as the yolk sac, if it's not there then your doctor is probably right.  Sometimes the spotting and cramping come later.

Pam has a great point. I would check with your dr about that. Hope everything goes well.

I'm sorry, I'm confused.  If a sac was measured twice by u/s, once at 6cm then at 10cm, why is your doctor saying a sac was not visible?  Wouldn't a sac have to be seen to be measured?
