upset about gender?

To the mom who is upset over gender. First let me say I'm a psychologist.  Second what you are feeling (although I haven't met you) can be normal. It sounds like to me that you may possibly    not be close to the little girl in your life now. And also being pregnant again and not 100% sure you wanted to be leads to fear. I think you are though really avoiding those fears and Maki G yourself think it's because of the new news. It's normal to be a little disappointed most parents secretly have a preference.  However your behavior is an over-reaction. I think you have fears and anxiety overall with the pregnancy and also depression and you should speak to your doctor and tell them your honest feelings so they can help you... a story for you.. I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. I'm 38 and my son is 16 so this was a surprise.  I just lost my sister few months ago to cancer so my entire family wanted a girl. I had a scare that my child had a high risk after a test of downs syndrome.  I lived in fear for 2 weeks and got the results today. 99% no downs syndrome or anything else... and becasue it was genetic testing I got to know that it was a boy. Let me tell you how happy I am that I'm having a healthy baby. And God knew I needed this boy .. so you could one day have something that will last turn your life upside down when it comes to your children. . So just be happy you have a  healthy baby and seek professional help  for you the baby and your other children. ...

Well said sister!! I to wanted a boy, but I am overjoyed to be having a healthy little girl and daddy is super excited. That's your child no matter what!!
