Gender disappointment

Ah man today I had my 20 week scan and went with my bf..he always wanted a girl I wanted a boy I already have a 7 year old I just love the relationship little boys have with their moms..anywho I'm happy she's healthy buttttt it's a girl:/ I can't help but feel a little disappointed and my bf doesn't understand :/ he's upset that I'm upset lol it's so annoying. I know it sounds selfish but I can't help how I'm feeling I'm sure I'll get over it though.. I tried to show him an article online about how common this feeling is and he wouldn't read it and said it's so weird that I feel this way :/

You will get over it, I guarantee it.  I was upset for like a day or two with our first two, found out girls when I wanted a boy.  But honestly, I got over it fast and once you can picture in your head her/him it all starts to sink in and you can't see life any other way.

I am not that far along.  Only 3 wks. I have two boys and my fiancee has a son. They're 11,10 and 6. I'm hoping for a girl. I have a special relationship with my mom and I'm hoping for that. My boys are special too so I look forward to another healthy baby. No matter what.

I realllllly wanted a gurl. I am so charlies angels gurl powered out. I hv a 17 yr old gurl and she just moved out. I just found out I am having a boi!  I lovehello kitty and all things glittered up, I hv no idea what to do with a boi, and all of the ooutfits are hideous!  I'm starting to get used to the idea.. bc Above all,  I'm hving a baby when they told me I never would again!
I have a book called getting pregnant or something.  It says to get a boi ear lots of chocolate early on abd through to your second trimester.  Ugh all I ate waz Ben n Jerry's half baked, chocolate éclairs and See's candies (2lb box!) I wish I would hv avoided those!  Now I'm struggling w names bc I had a plan!

Be grateful you gender disappointment is nothing compared yo mine.We wanted a girl but its a boy again yes again between me and my boyfriend this makes boy number 7 no girls. We accepted the challenge to each other as we call it to try again for a girl.We failed and are done after this one. This is only our first child together.

If it is something that could upset you then it's a good reason not to find out the gender until birth.  Then you can focus on the pregnancy of your baby and health and then deal with what gender arrives when it does.(rather than worrying for half your pregnancy and arguing with your partner).
There are positives with whatever sex the baby is.  Girls don't have to wear pink or have their nails painted. Some boys can be quite sensitive and have tantrums and need cuddles (or want their nails done!)
You'll probably feel better when this baby arrives.

I felt very similar with my first born. I wanted a girl so badly and was devastated when I found out it was a boy. Everything changed the moment he was born. I fell instantly in love and couldn't have cared less at that point about gender. Remind your bf that you've got a lot of hormones in your system right now. Remind yourself as well. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Just think you will be lucky enough to have a mother son bond and a mother daughter bond!! You can take her to get her nails painted, You will get to fluff her dress on her wedding day, be there for her when she has a family of her own. All the things that only a mother and a daughter can share. Congratulations and I am sure you will be feeling better about having a little lady all of your own very soon :-)

I completely understand the bond between a mom and her son. There is nothing quite so sweet and wonderful. I have two son's. A 19 yr old and an 18 month old.....but also having a 20 yr old daughter I want you to know, that my heart and soul wouldn't be so complete if it wasn't for the bond I share with my daughter. There is a sweet love shared with son's but a truly deep connection with daughter's. I am due with another little girl in 5 weeks......I can't wait to see her little face and paint her little nails.....you'll find that despite the sex of our children, it will be the breath they take and breath into your life that is the really important part.
