Numb hands and pain in wrists

Any suggestions to relieve numb hands and pain in my wrists?  I am 38 weeks so almost done.  My left wrist is so painful I can barely move my thumb.

Hey mommy1268, Here's some information about tingling and numbness in the wrists from our MedHelp Symptoms Manual (also in the I'm Expecting app): http://www.medhelp.org/pregnancy-health/articles/Numbness-and-Tingling-During-Pregnancy-Your-Symptoms-Manual/2131

Use epsom salt soak after you check with doctor to see if it's ok in pregnancy.  Buy a resting hand splint at a good drugstore. Look up stretches for wrist on the internet.

I had carpal tunnel pain that was so bad I'd cry every night and eventually wound up in the er bc I thought it had to be something else! I had no idea carpal tunnel could be soooooooo unbearable! The nurse in the er said it's pretty common.  She said she had it and got cortisone injections for it and got relief within 2 days. I called my doctor who told me I could get the injections. They inject a little dose into your wrists. I cannot begin to tell you what a lifesaver! Worked amazingly! Good luck!

I suffer from carpal tunnel which has similar symptoms. Look on webmd for hand stretch techniques and that may aveliate some numbness.

You can look at a massage to see if it'll help, stretches, and possibly a chiropractor as long as they have experience with pregnancy.
