Any other expecting mum's 44 years or older

Happy new year to everyone.I did a home pregnancy test on Christmas day and yes....positive.
We have been so excited. My partner and I haven't told anyone as yet as I've had two miscarriages in the last four years.
The first at 12 weeks when I was 40 yrs old and the second last year when I was 9 weeks and me  44 yrs old.
I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant and haven't been able to see a doctor as the centre has been closed due to the Christmas break. As soon as the doctors are open I'm in there.
Last year when I was pregnant, friends bought me gifts for the baby,I don't think I could cope with the loss again so decided to wait to tell family and friends when I'm at least 12 weeks now.
My partner is 46yrs old and this will be his first babe.I have a 25yrs old daughter who has two children,a 21yrs old daughter who has just had a baby and a 14 yrs old son.My kids thought it was amazing the first two times I got pregnant since I was 40yrs old.
So I really need to hear from any other mum's or dad's that are going through a situation like us.I am  very strong minded and postive.
Love to hear from you.

Congratulations! Thank you for posting. I hope all goes well. I'm 44, will turn 45 this month, and am TTC #1.  I was so hopeful BEFORE reading the stats about my age, so hearing your news is comforting to know that getting pregnant at our age is still possible.  Will keep you in my thoughts. Thank you both for your kind words.
It's wonderful to share our stories with each other and know we are not alone.
I'm so glad to have joined and enjoy reading other peoples experiences.
Pam,you are blessed and how awesome to have two beautiful children over 40 yrs.
Thank you for sharing this with me as it brings great comfort to know other women have had babies at my age.
There is hope for me too....
I feel like I'm on tender hooks at the moment but I will take each day as it comes and just keep hoping that this baby will keep on growing and be healthy.
Wendy,I did say HI to you last year on a post but wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do on someone else's question.
I thought it was great that I wasn't the only one at 44yrs TTC.
Also thank you both for the warm welcomes as well.

Congratulations and welcome! You point out something great about this forum - it's a place where you can get support early in your pregnancy, when it's too early to tell your friends. Support is really important, for both you and your DH - especially when you haven't been able to share your story widely yet.

I am 44 and TTC #1, so I always like to hear of conceptions in women's 40s - not to mention all the bouncing babes in this group!

Best wishes,
~Wendy

Well congratulations, what a beautiful Christmas gift!!  I conceived naturally at 42 and 44.  I have a 3yr old son and a 5 mo baby girl, and I am now 46.  I can sense both your excitment and fear...but let me assure you, you will be just fine.  The nice thing is you have grown children that will give you much support and help both during and after your little angel is born.  When I became pregnant at 42, (delivered at 43), I was just so thrilled and grateful that I even became pregnant....when I found out I was pregnant again at 45..and delivered a healthy beautiful baby girl, well, I just knew there was a GOD : )  Take extra special care of yourself, take a good prenatal, and know that you made the best choice by joining this forum, cause even though you will probably never see or meet any of us face to face, we are only minutes away from answering any or all questions and concerns you may have along the way.  So here's a great big warm welcome to you and your family on this fantastic news!  Enjoy every second, and please keep us posted!!  Happy New Year!!  Pam

Thank you so much  adgal for posting your comments and thanks for the warm welcome.
Yes it will be a rocky road ahead for me but I'm not giving up hope.
Wow congrats to you too, your first baby. How very special,I wish you all the best also.
We have been trying for 6 years for a baby and all naturally.
Ive had a few people shocked to find out we would like our own baby only because of the ages of my other children and my age.
Yes so a positive outcome is what we will be praying for.
Thank you again.

Hi there and welcome.  Although my situation is a bit different (I am almost 41 and expecting my first baby in a few weeks), I did want to welcome you and say congrats to you!  I too have experienced miscarriage and can tell you that even with a history of it, a positive outcome is still very very possible.  I wish you well and look forward to your updates!!  Good luck to you and again, welcome to our community!
