Is this Normal?

I had a miscarriage in January of this year, afterwards I had the usual bleeding. However I started to have two week periods and then a two week break. I then became pregnant again but lost the babsy due to Edwards Syndrome @ 14 weeks. I stopped bleeding or 1/2 a day when I had my first period. This continued or 2 weeks and stopped for 2 day's, I then started spotting again. I was given a hormone pill by my doctor to stop the bleeding and had a swab to check or inections. The swab came back clear and the pill worked, however I then had a 1 week bleed then two day break then started brown spotting again I am due on my period next week and have not really stopped. I have been advised this is normal and things will settle down, is this normal. Could this imbalance cause problems in future pregnancies? .

It is pretty common.  I had a similar pattern after my first m/c.  You can also have the other extreme of NO bleeding at all after a loss. That happened after my 2nd m/c and then I found out I was pregnant again! Im happy to tell you Im 26 wks. So if you are ready to ttc again....remember your ovulation can be off a bit but you can still try!

Yes, this is normal.  Losing a pregnancy can create a similar hormonal effect as giving birth.  Everyone is different in how long it takes their body to return to normal.

As far as I know the only real problem it can have on future pregnancies is if you wind up having a shorter time between ovulation and menstration.  I think its anything less then 10 days makes it hard for implantaion to take place.  Usually all returns to normal though, although I have heard of womens cycles changing a bit.  I am sure you will be back to normal soon.  HOwever, if you are concerned I would be checking with your Dr.

Take care and good luck to you.
