The same thing happened to me. I was about 9 weeks and I was visiting my FIL at the cematary and I had felt wet, so I had looked in my pants and I had a little bit of blood on my underwear so DH and I called L&D and they told me to come right in, so I did, they did an exam and couldn't find anything, did an ultrasound and the baby still had a strong HB and he was moving all around. At 10 weeks it happened again but it was a little worse this time, When I stood up to go to the bathroom a gush a blood flowed out, sorta like a bubble poped (that how I can describe it) again I went into L&D they did an ultrasound and still a hb and he was moving all around. At 12 weeks it happened again, but it was really really bad this time. I was standing in line to be seated for a table for dinner and I felt this huge gush, I looked down into my pants and blood was just pouring out of me, I also had clots the size of my hand, I thought for sure it was parts of the placenta coming out of me. Again, I called L&D and they told me to come right in, I literally filled a beach towel going to the hospital, it wasn't stopping, It just kept pouring out. When I got to L&D I had lost so much blood, I almost had to have a blood tranfusion, they told me to get undressed and they would do the exam. I told them NO WAY, you're going to do an ultrasound before I do anything, I want to make sure my baby was okay. I got up on the table (blood literally everywhere) they put the wand on my stomach and I saw him moving all around and the hb was still just fine. So the doctor was determined this time to find out where all this blood was coming from. I know she examined me for over 25 minutes trying to find out what was going on, while she was examining me she was pulling huge blood clots out of me the size of golf balls, it was amazing. The doctor finally discovers that I had two cervical polyps on the base of my cervix. They put me in the emergency surgery the next day to try and remove them. Being 12 weeks pregnant I was terrified. They did a spinal block and tried to remove them by tying them off with surgical thread, they said they were too far up and if they would have removed them they would have caused even more bleeding. While they had me in there they did take a clipping off of one of them to be sent away to see if it was cancer or not. Thank God it wasn't, but every since that day I never had any bleeding after that. I went on to have a healthy 8 lbs 10 ozs baby boy who is going to be 6 months old on Tuesday.
It sounds to me that is exactly what you have. Believe me, it scared me half to death and I though for sure I had placenta pervia. But the weird thing was I never had any cramping so I didn't think I was having a miscarriage. I had 4 miscarriage before I went full term with this past pregnancy.
It's good that your doctor is keeping an eye on it. Send me a message if you have anymore questions. Good luck to you.
How scary!!! I can't even imagine how you felt when you saw all that blood! I freaked the two times I had spotting. I am glad to hear that your cervix is closed and your little one is doing great. I wish I had answer to give you about where the bleeding is coming from. Fortunately it sounds like it is not pregnancy related so that is good news!!!!! Hopefully some bedrest and good monitoring from you ob will keep you safe and sane!!!
Glad to hear you love the forum, I love it too!! I am quite the MH junkie!!!!!!
Good luck and keep me posted!
