I had fever blisters during pregnacy the Dr. prescribe Valtrex I guess its ok during pregnacy. But yes I heard that if you have an outbreak in your vaginal are during delivery
you should have a C-section. Good luck.............
From what I know they are 2 different strains. I luckily inherited cold sores from my dad and had my first outbreak when I was one. They for sure don't harm the baby! I have had a few since becoming pregnant but no more then I usually would with all our weather changes.
On the flip side there, my one brother and I both get them but my youngest brother does not, so it does not mean your kids will get them. I also have an almost 11 yearold son and he also does not get them, so he never inherited it from me!
As for the other strain... It is best to tell your doctor. From what I understand it is only dangerous if you have an outbreak during delivery so your doctor will want to monitor you! But with proper medical care you should be fine!
I dont have any issues with cold sores or anything, though I have HSV1. My sister has HSV2 (genital) and she has had two kids- it is important that your OBGYN knows this. During pregnancy it's usually not an issue but when you go into labor- if you have ANY sores present, a C-section must be done. Also, I do not believe Valtrex is safe during pregnancy in case you take it. Lots of women with HSV2 go on to have healthy pregnancies but if you have any type of oubreak, precautions need to be taken during delivery.
