How far along were you when you had your first OB U/S?

My first u/s was one week after my beta. We did IVF after four failed IUIs. Only saw a sac but heartbeat was present from week 7 on. I saw my RE for a weekly u/s until 10 weeks and switched to my OB then.

I had my first u/s at 7 weeks because I had on and off spotting from 5 weeks and I previously had a miscarriag

Hi,

I had my first u/s pretty much a few days after I got positive test (becuase I'm working with an RE).  NOthing to be seen at that time.  A total waste of time and money.  Second was 2 weeks later.  We saw a single intrauterine gestational sac, but it was too early to see fetal pole or anything.  Also pretty much a waste of time and money - except that we confirmed that it wasn't ectopic (important in my case due to adhesions from previous abdominal surgery).

It is now up to me if I want to have a 12 week scan or a 20 week scan.  However,  I've already decided not to proceed with the 12 week ultrasound unless the doctor strongly recommends (ie. measuring smaller or bigger than expected) at that stage.  And maybe not even the 20 week one....

I had my first Obe appointment at 7 weeks (but that was becuase I was having major mastitis (still breastfeeding) and needed antibiotics.  My next Obe appointment is at about 12 weeks.  So another 3 weeks to go.

My first OB appointment was pretty much right after a positive pregnancy test.  I was working with an OB having testing for multiple m/c, so she wanted to monitor HCG levels from the beginning.  First u/s was 6 w for me as well, but again I was considered high risk.  The average first u/s is not until 8 weeks, and depending on your history and Dr., sometimes longer.  Every women will pretty much have one by end of first trimester though.

I had one at 6weeks3days and another at 8weeks4days. At my next one I will be 18weeks1day.

My recent- 7 weeks 5 days.  They wanted to wait until "it" was big enough to see if there was actually a HB.  I had an u/s at 5 wks with my son (2 yrs ago) b/c we had NO idea of dates and he was 100% a surprise.  It was too small/early to see anything and I had to come back in a week or 2.  (dont remember exactly).  My doc tries to schedule an early u/s for miscarriage, etc.  (empty sac, etc)...which we also had twice last yr.
