Light period for first 2 days then normal

Hi,
I always had heavy flow on first 3 days of the period and then some light bleeding or spotting on 4th and 5th day and then stop. But for the past 6 months or so after I started trying to conceive I have been having very light period on first 2 days and then normal heavy bleeding on 3rd till 4th afternoon then it gets lighter and stops on 5th.
I have checked for my harmones and everything seems to be normal. But I have noticed that my luteal phase is not more than 11 or 12 days since I started charting. Do you think it is because of the delay in start of heavy bleeding?
I also have hypothyroidism and am taking some supplements like folic acid, b-complex, calcium and sometimes one a day womens multivitamin.
Do you think its because of the new over the counter supplements or suspect any harmonal changes? I have not been able to conceive yet so am worried.

thanks for the reply. Supplements do affect in my experience. I took 50mg of B6 a day last year before that my cycles were 27 - 28 days which increased to 31 days that month. But instead of luteal phase it extended my pre-ovulation phase. Anyway I am going to talk to my doctor.

I cannot say whether or not these other issues are causing the change, but I can tell you that periods do change.  Mine is very different then it was 5 years ago, and has changed again post partum.  I think most of us have changes throughout our lives.

I would discuss with your Dr.  I am a big believer on leaning on them for advice and support while ttc.  I doubt any of your supplements are having any impact, but anything is certainly possible.  The ideal lutal phase is 14 days, but I believe anything over 10 does not have an impact of your ability to conceive.  Good luck to you.
