I was reading earlier that lentils are very good for regulating blood sugar within the body. Adding them to your diet will possibly help - yummy things like lentil roast, dal, red lentil soup. I looked up loads of recipes on Pinterest and can't wait to make them :) cinnamon is also good for regulating blood sugars. I have it on my cereal every day. Doctors will advise on what to do medically and keep a very close eye on you, so you'll be fine. And yes, you might have a big baby! Improving things with your diet will be an added bonus for you!

You can manage your GD successfully....I am type 1 insulin dependant with great A1c levels....but please do not take the advice of previous poster and lose weight. As far as water birthing, it depends on your birthing center or hospital...good luck to you

I had diabetes for both my pregnancies.  For my second I wanted to have a water birth, but they wouldn't let me.  Anyway, turned out I needed a cesarian (nothing to do with diabetes, which was very well managed), but because she got tied in the umbilical cord.

I still dream of having a water birth.

I think it will depend on your dr / the hospital.

I have it also, I have to check my blood four times a day. And eat less sugary foods. Your placenta is blocking your insulin flow. Chances are you might have a large baby but I don't see y you couldn't have a water birth.
