I agree with the others...if it can be avoided, I wouldn't take it. It's an opiate (generic for Vicodin). There are non-narcotic pain meds available...maybe ask your MD about it? Also, Amanda is right - pharmacists tend to be more informative than doctors about drugs and possible issues. Good luck!

I agree with Meli. When prescribing meds during pregnancy, Dr.'s will typically weigh the risk against the benefit. However, I have found that talking to your pharmascist is the best course of action, simply because I like to have all the information, and be a part of making decisions for my own care. The pharmascist is an expert on drugs and the potential risks and side effects involved. I have found he/she is also often able to make alternate suggestions with less potential risk. The won't substitute on their own, but you can take the info back to your Dr. Good luck to you.
nothing is 100%... some of us didn't even drink a coke while we were pg because of the effect it may have. If you really really need it you take it.. if you can deal with the pain maybe you shouldn't. I passed a kidney stone while pg with no meds and believe me that hurt as much as labor... you just have to weigh the risks... and do what is right for you
