Hi,
I am working with an Ob (I love her!) - but she is coordinating with a fertility doctor (who does the IUI).
I did the clotting tests this morning. They tested for
KCT, APTT, DRVVT, ACA IgG & IgM, Beta-2-glycoprotein-1 IgG & IgM, ANA.
It will take 2 weeks (about) to get all the results back.
Sometimes they also test for Protein C, and Protein S (I think)??? but they didn't for me.
My twin sister just found out that she is having twins. She is about 11 weeks now. SHe is quite apprehensive about having 2, particularly as she wants a natural unintervened birth. She has some good contacts who should help her. I didn't expect to feel so upset and jealous at her news.... worse than I felt about losing the baby (we would have been due just a few days apart if I hadn't lost this last baby). However, I love her very much and support her in any way i can.
Woke up in extreme pain this morning at 3 am. UTI. Feels like down there is on fire! Saw my obe after the blood tests, and she gave me antibiotics (after submission of urine culture). Yeow and Yikes!! I am SO uncomfortable. Never had a UTI like this before and in so much pain. Can't wait for the antibiotics to kick in!
But on the good side, she did an u/s to make sure that the pain/problem had nothing to do with the miscarriage 10 days ago. Well, uterus looks normal and great! She said my ovaries look beautiful, and there were 12 mm follicles 1 on each side. That means I think that I will be ovulating this cycle. I will be trying again (au naturelle) just on the odd chance something could happen. Now I just need to get a baby to stick!
I will start taking baby aspirin too, even while I'm waiting to get the results back from all this testing, as it seems to be safe and would likely be the treatment if anything does come back positive.
I felt the same way you did when I underwent testing. A scared they will, scared they won't. I am about to undergo it again, although this time with an RE instead of an OB. Maybe we will both get results and something can be done. I wish you well...and if you get a second post the type of tests you are having. I am curious as to whether the things we will both be tested for are the same. Good luck!!!
